It's Time For Accountability From City Council

EMERGENCY! No time to do things the right way around here!

 

I've uploaded three resolutions from tonight's city council meeting. All considered "emergency". Oy.

They are:

  • A $50,000 loan to a Coventry merchant,
  • Extend the application period for the 100%, 7 year tax abatement on Severance Center area developments until 2016
  • Allow further changes to the configuration of the Bluestone (GFO Project LLC) development.

 

Based on my conversations with city council members and city department heads, there are no report cards put together to measure the benefits to our community or the return on investment of all this taxpayer $ largess. Just sporadic, anecdotal bits and pieces of "information" of dubious merit.

Things have got to change at city hall. The sooner, the better.
