The Phase I bond calls for this, and nothing more:
$100 MILLION to renovate a 90 year old high school
$50 MILLION to renovate two 80 - 90 year old middle schools
$0 to renovate seven elementary schools
There is no explanation how any of the above will impact, for better or worse, how well kids in the district learn.
This will increase the cost property owners $200 per $100,000 of assessed value per year. If your home is assessed at $200,000, your tax increase will be $400 per year. If your home is assessed at $300,000, your tax increase will be $600 per year.
And the decision to renovate these old buildings is contrary to the State Of Ohio's best practices.
