Sprint Into the Night

For the fifth year in a row, a group of Heights area women have joined together to plan Sprint Into the Night on Saturday June 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Nighttown, 12387 Cedar Road, Cleveland Heights. The casual event, attended by almost 200 guests, features cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and raffles set to live jazz music on the Nighttown patio.

Sprint Into the Night serves as a fundraising kick-off for Team UCP, a group of individuals who unite to raise funds and awareness for UCP of Greater Cleveland at the Cleveland Triathlon. Team UCP is made up of triathletes, recreational enthusiasts and community members who run, bike and swim to benefit children and adults with disabilities throughout Northeast Ohio.

Formed by Shaker Heights resident Megan McMahon in honor of her children Kevin and Anna Mary, who have cerebral palsy, the Sprint Into the Night committee set out to create a festive event that would make a difference in the community in which they live. Many of the committee members also participate in the triathlon, and this event is a way to increase awareness of their efforts and raise additional funds. Over the past four years, the event has grown to include corporate underwriters and increasingly novel auction packages while still keeping its local flair.

Among the corporate sponsors are Presenting Sponsor KeyBanc Capital Markets and Platinum Sponsors Audi Willoughby and Audi Bedford. All proceeds from the event directly benefit the programming of UCP of Greater Cleveland.
