The Cleveland Heights High School Girls Soccer Team is starting to make some noise this season. The Lady Tigers improved their record to 6-1 after defeating Willoughby South last night 3-0. They have held their last 2 opponents scoreless (Brush and South) and have not given up a goal in over 160 consecutive minutes.
They have been lead by a strong defense and deep offense. On the season, the Lady Tigers have scored 28 goals while only conceding 6 in 7 games. They have 4 players with 5 goals or more with no one player dominating the score sheet. Their lone loss came at the hands of powerful Laurel, in which they lead or were tied for most of the game.
The next 3 games should tell us a lot about the Tigers as 2 of them are against district rivals, Madison, at home (Denison Park) on 9/19 and Mentor, at Mentor (Mentor High School) on 9/23. The 6-1 record is the best start for the Lady Tigers Soccer Program in close to a decade.
