S'mores And Snow!

This is an idea my family uses in the late Fall or early Winter, after the first period of steady snow fall. My children and myself built an in-ground pit lined with stones into our lower garden. We use it to make a light fire to keep us warm on a cool crisp night.

We bundle up and roast hot dogs, marshmallows and we make s'mores. Now that I'm Ma Ma Jenkins, my granddaughter Kima from California comes to Cleveland during the winter for a night of S'mores and Snow.

This is also a good time to serve hot chocolate, to get together with our children, have conversations and seek information relative to their upbringing and being aware of how they are thinking about life in general.

The coziness of the fire pit, the hot chocolate and the togetherness has proven to be very effective for our family.
