Community Update

and those are MODERN Spruance-class destroyers, mind you;

does anyone out there truly, seriously believe it takes over a quarter billion dollars to fix a few pipes, patch some walls & knock out others, rehang some ceiling panels and build a new entrance facade?

well congratulations, because the most heavily taxed school district in the mid-west just laid down for another tax to improve the environment in which a majority of our children fail;

and do remember, this is only PHASE ONE, which means we can count on these clowns, having frittered away this tax proceeds, too, will come back to us saying, "Look at all we've achieved! We can't stop now! Let's finish the job with 2/3/4 MORE levies!"

and don't forget, in between, our so successful teachers and administration will want some more money in another levy...

and i wonder who will pay the $250,000 it costs annually to maintain that Olympic swimming pool--the teachers?

unlikely...how about the mayor? Allen Wilkerson? Ron Register? the rest of the school board? the city council?

you can count on them all being there and the groundbreaking ceremony for the pool, goofy grins on their faces and silver shovels in their hands--and a plea for yet another levy to cover "unexpected cost overruns";

so where does it all end?

when we've taxed so many residents out of the district we become the first richest ghetto in the nation, full of abandoned 1/4 and half million dollar properties looking like Australia in the movie "On The Beach" while we bus students from other counties singing, "Waltzing Matilda", if not fly them in from across the world like the cleveland school district once did teachers?

hilarious, you say, maybe even hysterical?

just keep passing foolish levies for pie-in-the-sky promises from popinjay amateur politicians with no strings or accountability attached, and see who laughs last;

swimming pool donuts will get you levy dollars it won't be us taxpayers...
