A Cleveland Heights man has been charged with felony drug trafficking, cultivating marijuana and possession of criminal tools after authorities said that 59 marijuana plants were discovered in his home last week.
Garry Kanter, 55, of Cummings Road in Cleveland Heights, was charged in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court March 25, according to court records.
The Sun News reports that 59 plants and 2,300 grams of hash oil were discovered after a search warrant was executed on his home March 20. He was arrested March 25 and posted a $25,000 bond the same day.
He's been charged with two counts of drug trafficking, two counts of drug possession and one count each of cultivating marijuana and possessing criminal tools.
Kanter is due in court April 10 for his arraignment.
Kanter, an active Patch blogger who has pledged to attend 455 council meetings and who is known to express strong opinions about local city and school official decisions, has been contacted for comment on these charges. We'll let you know if he responds.
