Child on bicycle collides with car

Feb. 10, 3:58 p.m -- A 10-year-old boy on his bicycle collided with a car that was driving in the 3500 block of Bainbridge Road.

The boy had a bloody nose and other non-life threatening injuries from the crash, police said. He was taken to Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital for treatment.

The woman driving the car told police she was only driving about 20 mph when the bicycle shot across the road, and she didn't have time to avoid it.

The driver was not charged with anything because the boy was found to have caused the crash.

Car crashes into CVS building

Feb. 9, 4:02 p.m -- A Toyota Camry struck the side of the CVS building on Lee Road.

The driver said they skidded on ice in the parking lot.

The collision did not cause any structural damage to the building.

Two boys caught trying to break into cars

Feb. 11, 1 a.m -- Two boys were arrested for entering vehicles on Lancashire, Mayfield and Hampshire roads. They admitted to the thefts and stated they only entered vehicles that were unlocked.

Cars that they checked that were locked, were not entered.

Residents are reminded to lock their car doors to deter thieves.

Silent attacker breaks victims eyeglasses

Feb. 10, 10 p.m -- A man said he was hit in the face while on the 2800 block of Mayfield Road.

He told police that the attacker hit him once -- breaking his glasses -- but he didn't say anything or try to take anything.

The attacker then fled.

The victim described the man who hit him as a black man in his late teens or early 20s. He was about 5 feet, 6 inches in height and had a heavy-set build.
