Cleveland Heights Man Is Sentenced To 30 Years To Life In Prison For Aggravated Murder

A Cleveland Heights man was sentenced to 30 years to life on a count of aggravated murder Wednesday.
James Montgomery, 25, had pleaded guilty to the murder charge on January 10 in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Janet Burnside's court.
On December 22, 2011, the victim, 49-year-old David Fraser, of Cleveland, was stabbed to death in his apartment on Lake Avenue.

Fraser's television, wallet and cell phone were missing.
DNA found in the Fraser's apartment matched Montgomery, according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. Consequently, Montgomery was arrested Feb. 8, 2012.

Montgomery has a criminal record. He was convicted of two counts of aggravated robbery in 2007 in Cuyahoga Court of Common Pleas.
The judge sentenced him to four years in prison. He was on parole for these crimes when he murdered Fraser.
