Cleveland Heights Police Arrest Aggravated Robbery Suspect: Police Blotter

Police arrested the suspect known as "Meech."

Cleveland Heights Police have nabbed the suspect known as "Meech" and charged him with at least two aggravated robberies in the area.

Police said Marquis Smith, 23, of Cleveland Heights, threatened victims at gunpoint in both incidents.

On Sept. 8, Smith is accused of robbing a 14-year-old in Cain Park, stealing his headphones, backpack and tennis shoes. Police said he then struck again and struck out on Sept. 12 — a victim said that Smith and another man tried to rob him, but the victim didn't have anything on him.

Woman arrested, charged with robbing Dollar General

An employee at Dollar General on Lee Road called police and said a woman assaulted the cashier and stole money the morning of Sept. 17. Police arrested the suspect, Sheila Carlisle, 47, of Cleveland Heights, and charged her with robbery. She is accused of pushing the cashier and stealing money from the store.

Police catch laptop thief in the act

An 18-year-old Cleveland Heights resident said he was walking near the 2800 block of Mayfield Road at 6:17 p.m. when a man knocked into him. During the shuffle, a second man stole his laptop and fled. Police saw one of the supects in the incident, Devonte Dees, 19, Cleveland Heights, running. Police caught up to him and said they found him with the laptop. Dees was arrested.

Robbery reported near Meadowbrook and Silsby

A woman called police at about 11 p.m. Sept. 16 and said her son was robbed near Meadowbrook and Silsby. The victim reported that the suspect showed him what he thought was the handle of a gun, and stole his cell phone, head phones, debit card and bus pass. Police arrested a suspect, 18-year-old Cleveland Heights resident Dominique Matthews, and charged him with aggravated robbery.
