Cleveland Heights Police Blotter: Three Cars Stolen

Several cars stolen, broken into or damaged at the end of February

Grand Theft

  • Three cars were reported stolen between Feb. 25 and Feb. 26. A Chevy Lumina was stolen from Noble Road, and the other cars were stolen from Lancashire Road and Cleveland Heights Boulevard.

Theft from cars

  • Six people reported that their cars were broken into between Feb. 25 and Feb. 26. GPS units were the most commonly stolen item, and one person said a purse was stolen. The break-ins occurred on Overlook Road, Coventry Road, Delaware Drive, Bellfield Avenue and Yellowstone Road. Captain Martin Lentz of the Cleveland Heights Police Department said to make sure to hide items like GPS units, iPods, other electronics and all associated cables in the glove compartment or center console.

 Theft

  • A 37-year-old woman was arrested for stealing about $200 worth of items from Wal-Mart in Severance Town Center on Feb. 28.

 Damage to Cars

  • Someone reported that the rear window of the car was smashed and two tires  slashed. The car had to be towed from Rushleigh Road on Feb. 27.
  • The owner of a car on Rumson Road reported that someone broke the window Feb. 25. 
  • Kids were throwing ice chunks at a car on Coventry Road Feb. 27 and cracked the windshield. The driver found one of the kids and his parents are paying to fix the windshield.

 Burglary

  • A resident on Noble Road reported a burglary at the home Feb. 26. Assorted clothing and cell phones were stolen.
