Hotel guest gets liberal with complimentary items- On Dec. 12, the general manager at the Hampton Inn in Bath Township called to report a theft of hotel merchandise, according to a Bath police report.

The manager told police someone booked two hotel rooms on the Internet and a man with a different name came in to stay in the rooms. The man told the manager his father booked the rooms for him, the report stated.

At 11:30 the same day the man left the hotel and it was discovered that he broke both rooms' TV stands and the televisions had been taken. He also stole the bedding from one of the king size beds, the report stated.

The items were valued at $1,900, said Chief Michael McNeely. No one has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing. The hotel was unable to determine if the credit card used to book the rooms was stolen.

Two transactions totaling $438 -- one at a shoe store and one at a tobacconist -- went through. The third transaction was refused.

The two victims do not use the same bank. Westlake Police are investigating both cases.
