UPDATED: Girl Injured by Gunfire After Fight Breaks Out on Altamont Road
Cleveland Heights Police arrested nine boys and one man involved in what officers called a riot involving up to 30 people Sunday afternoon

Cleveland Heights Police arrested a teen and several others Sunday afternoon after what officers called a riot broke out and shots were fired near the 3400 block of Altamont Road.
When police arrived at 3:25 p.m. after receiving several calls, they said they saw 25 to 30 youths fighting in a lawn and the street. Police arrested a 17-year-old boy from University Heights and charged him with firing a gun. According to a press release, police believe the teen shot a gun toward one of the boys in the fight and missed him. The bullet hit a 16-year-old girl in the thigh. It is unknown at this time whether she was involved in the fight. She was transported to Hillcrest Hospital and was treated for a graze wound and released.

The boy was charged with aggravated riotoing and felonious assault and is now in the detention center, and the man arrested was charged with aggravated rioting.
"Additional officers arriving on scene were able to arrest males who were actively involved in the riot," according to the press release. Police arrested a total of nine boys and one man who are from University Heights, East Cleveland and Cleveland Heights.
