Hospice Nurse Solicited for Sex: Best of Blotter

Here are some of the weirdest police reports and incidents from departments across the region.

Here are this week's most bizarre police calls, reports and charges. All information was provided by police reports from departments in Patch communities. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

That's not in the job description- A State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) told Cuyahoga Falls police she was solicited for sex while giving hospice care to a person living in the 2800 block of Cedar Hill Road.

The incidents occurred between Sept. 1, 2012, and March 18.

Soliciting is a third-degree misdemeanor, according to the Cuyahoga Falls police report.

I challenge you to a duel- An 86-year-old man was cited for illegally carrying a concealed weapon after police got a tip that he was going to have an armed confrontation with another man over a business feud.

Police went to a home on Country View Lane after someone called March 12 to say that a homeowner and a business partner were having an argument over selecting a realtor for the home, and that both men were armed and heading to the home for a confrontation.

The police arrived to find the homeowner, an 86-year-old man, standing outside the home with a cane.

The old man also wore a loaded and holstered .38-caliber revolver on his hip.

The man did not have a permit to carry the gun so he was issued a summons to Bedford Court for carrying the weapon illegally.

The other man said he had no intention of going to the home and hurt the man.

Put it in reverse- Investigators in Stow said a woman in her 80s ran her minivan into a local restaurant.

The fire captain reported the woman "lurched forward" in the van striking the building and causing $40,000 in damage.
