Man Attempts to Break Into Cleveland Heights Police Academy: Police Blotter

An officer reported that a man tried to break into the Martin G. Lentz Police Academy, 2595 Noble Road, on May 22. The suspect made it into the basement of the building but was stopped by locked doors inside. He did not steal anything and a warrant is out for his arrest.

Teens Charged With Robbing 12-year-old

Two 14-year-old boys were charged with robbery and accused of hitting a 12-year-old boy and stealing his keys at 3:30 p.m. May 19.

The Cleveland Heights and Warrensville Heights teens asked the victim if he had money. The boy said no. The teens then hit him and took his keys, according to the report. Police arrested the suspects and charged them with robbery.

15-year-old robbed, assaulted

A woman reported that her 15-year-old son was robbed on the 2100 block of Goodnor at 6 p.m. May 19. She said that five men asked him if he had money, and when he said no, they took him to the ground and assaulted him. The men fled, and police are still investigating.

Woman helps catch copper thieves

A resident called police May 16 and reported that someone had broken into her neighbor's home. The woman called the owner and confirmed that no one was supposed to be at the house. Police arrived and caught two men stealing copper plumbing, police reported. They arrested two suspects — Cleveland Heights resident John Rabb, 31 and Cleveland Heights resident Keith Robinson, 34.

Boy assaulted by a group of teens

A concerned citizen called police just after 4 p.m. May 21 and reported a large disturbance on the 2000 block of South Taylor Road. A 17-year-old boy from South Euclid was attacked by a group of teens, police reported. The teen had visible injuries on his face but was not transported to the hospital. Police are still investigating.

Computer theft

A computer was stolen from on Mayfield Road and reported at 10 a.m. May 22.
