Man With Gun Threatens People on Coventry

Cleveland Heights police officers chased the suspect and arrested him on scene.

received a call at 2:33 a.m. June 17 reporting that a man standing near on Coventry Road was flashing a gun and threatening to shoot people.

When police arrived, the suspect fled but officers quickly caught up to him, arrested him and confiscated his handgun. Christian Dear, 22, of Cleveland, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, inducing panic and resisting arrest.

Reports compiled from call logs and information from the Cleveland Heights Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate conviction.

That's just swell. Betcha anything he was one of the E. Cleveland illegals that the Heights school administration looked the other way on when he crossed the border to attend Heights High. What goes around, comes around ....

The great thing about Cleveland Heights is it's walkability and pedestrian friendly neighborhoods and business districts. Along with that comes some nuts.

They do have beat police officers in Coventry. Maybe that's why they were able to respond so quickly and catch the suspect. Thanks to our police officers for their work and dedication. It seems like every few years we are bombarded by this kind of thing and they have always stepped up their game in response to these thugs.

It doesn't matter where the person came from. He was wrong and deserves to go to jail. Glad they caught him.
