Men Hide Stolen Air Fresheners in Pants: Police Blotter

Reports from the Cleveland Heights Police call logs

The store manager of Dollar General reported that two men were in his store stealing air fresheners and hiding them in their pants at 10:38 a.m. Feb. 11. He confronted one of the men, a 46-year-old from Cleveland, and the manager saw he had stolen other items. The man tried to leave, they struggled, but the manager was able to hold him there. When police  arrived, they found $217 worth of merchandise from the store on him. He was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and robbery.

No Trick-or-Treating here

A 40-year-old man from East Cleveland walked into Tree Country Bistro and helped himself to a handful of candy sitting out in the bowl around 5:48 p.m. Feb. 9. An employee confronted him and told him he couldn’t take the candy. The man then punched the employee in the eye and ran away. As he was running down Coventry, he bumped into a police officer. The officer arrested him and he was charged with robbery.

Girl's cell phone stolen from men asking for her number

A 17-year-old girl was walking home from Cleveland Heights High School around 4 p.m. Feb. 13 when two men started following her and asked her for her number. She said no and continued walking near the 2200 block of South Taylor Road. The men then grabbed her cell phone and ran away.
