Police Blotter: Man Shot in the Leg

Police are still investigating the incident

A concerned citizen called police after hearing gunshots on Aug. 26 around 4:30 p.m. The caller was right. According to police, a man on the 2500 block of Kenilworth Road let two men, one he knew, in his house. The man he did not know had a gun on him, and shot the Cleveland Heights resident in the leg. He was transported to the hospital, and police said he was treated and is recovering. The incident is still under investigation.

Nine arrested and charged with aggravated riot 

A citizen called police after seeing a fight near Lee and Superior roads. When police arrived around 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25, the boys and men were fighting in front of . Seven boys were arrested for aggravated riot and curfew because they were in the the after 6 p.m., and the two men were charged with aggravated riot. Six are from Cleveland Heights, and three are from Cleveland.

Men charged with carrying concealed weapons

A resident called police and said there was a man with a gun on the 3400 block of DeSota Avenue around 5 p.m. Aug. 26. Police arrived and found two guns, one that was loaded, laying on the front steps, and six people standing outside. They were all brought back for questioning and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. The two men charged are 31 and 18 years old and are from Cleveland Heights. Three of the boys are from Cleveland Heights, one is from Cleveland, and they range from 15 to 17 years old.
