Police Blotter: Woman Chases Burglary Suspect Out of Her Home

The Cleveland Heights resident said she woke up and heard a man breaking into her home

A woman said she was sleeping when a man broke into her house on the 800 block of Greyton Road at 12:45 a.m. Jan. 8. She woke up and said she chased the suspect out of her house, but he got away with a laptop. Police were not able to find the suspect.

Man threatens to kill clerk at Shell gas station

A 33-year-old man from Cleveland known as a regular at the gas station on the 2300 block of Lee Road was arrested and charged with assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and theft Jan. 7. Police received a report that the man was fighting with the clerk and threatened to kill him. Police arrived and arrested him. When they took him to the station, he kicked one of the police officers and tried to fight others.

Drunken driver crashes car into pole

A concerned citizen called police and said someone had crashed a car into a pole near the 3200 block of Kildare Road around 10 p.m. Jan 10. Police arrested the woman driving the car, a 42-year-old from University Heights, and charged her with drunken driving.

Man says he was robbed at gunpoint by people he knows

A Cleveland Heights resident said two men he knew came to his house on the 3800 block of Delmore Road around 11 p.m. Jan. 10 and robbed him at gunpoint. The men stole money, and police are still investigating.

Police arrest teens who are suspects in South Euclid burglary

A resident called police at 12:45 a.m. Jan. 9 and said he saw people running down the street near the 1100 block of Clifford Road carrying items. recovered a stolen laptop and liquor, and the South Euclid Police Department arrested three boys — a 15-year-old and 17-year-old from South Euclid and another teen the CHPD didn’t have information for. They were charged in a burglary in South Euclid.

Police arrest teens involved in fight

A woman called police at 5:42 p.m. Jan. 6 and said that seven people assaulted her son near the 3200 block of Altamont Road. Police said that when they arrived, there were two groups of males fighting and a youth with bloody hands near Superior and Goodnor. The group was not cooperative, police said. They arrested four teens and charged them with disorderly conduct. Three 16-year-olds are Cleveland Heights residents and one 16-year-old is a Euclid resident.
