Drunken driver hits curb, runs from police

Thursday, Nov. 29, 8:33 p.m. — A routine traffic stop led to felony charges for one man.

An officer made a stop on a car near the 3300 block of Redwood Road for not having a license plate light, according to reports. After the officer approached the car and asked the man to put the car in park and get his drivers license, the man took off in his car. The officer said that he heard the car hit a curb and spotted the car at the 3300 block of Clarendon Road, the driver running. The officer arrested the man and charged him with fleeing police, a felony.

Friday, Dec. 30, 9:55 p.m. — A resident of the 1000 block of Selwyn Road reported that someone broke into their home by breaking a plexiglass window and stole a laptop and $220 cash.

Man admits to smoking “some weed”

Saturday, Dec. 2 — IHOP restaurant on Mayfield Road reported that someone left without paying their bill. The party paid, but then police spotted a car matching the description the restaurant gave nearby and stopped it. The officer reported that he smelled burnt marijuana and had a police dog search the car. Though the police dog indicated that he detected marijuana, the officer did not find enough of the drug to test it. Someone in the backseat admitted he had “smoked some weed” but none were ticketed.
