Police Investigating Burglaries On Westminster & Renfield

Burglaries and break-ins in the city reported between Feb. 21 and 26

The Cleveland Heights Police Department are investigating burglaries and break-ins that have occurred in the city. If anyone has information regarding any crime listed in this article, he or she is encouraged to contact the police department at 216-321-1234.

  • A burglar went to great lengths to steal about $10 worth of change Feb. 26 from a home in the 1200 block of Westminster.

Somebody climbed onto a small roof structure and broke into one of the home's second-floor windows.

The burglar used another window to exit.

The only thing the homeowner found missing was a jar of change.

  • Someone pried into a house on the 900 block of Renfield.

They stole copper piping and a jewelry box.

They also left behind two bags of comic books, according to police.

  • An attentive resident helped police catch a would-be burglar Feb. 25 in the 2000 block of Rossmoor.

The resident saw a man he didn't recognize trying to break into the rear window of the house.

He called police for help and officers arrived while the suspect was still on the back porch.

When officers stopped 18-year-old Jaquan Kinney he had a small spade shovel on him, police said.

Kinney, who lives in Cleveland Heights, was charged with attempted aggravated burglary and possession of criminal tools.
