Burglar finds unlocked front door after trying to force side door
Jan. 9, 3:13 p.m. — Police report that someone broke into a vacant home at the 800 block of Cambridge Road. They believe he walked in through the unlocked front door after trying to force open a locked side door.

Squatters suspected in Lee Road apartment
Jan. 9, 9:37 a.m. — A maintenance worker reported that a vacant apartment was locked from the inside on the 2100 block of Lee Road. When police arrived, they discovered trash, receipts, a hairbrush and a flask inside the apartment. They believe one or more females entered the apartment through a window and have been staying there for a couple days or more.

Two arrested in attempted burglary
Jan. 15, 2:23 a.m. — Police responded to the Heights Deli & Market at 2879 Mayfield Road for a report of a possible break-in. On the way, police spotted two males that matched the description the caller gave and stopped them. Police watched security footage that showed the two males entering the deli after close, and they were arrested.
