Police search neighbor’s home in burglary investigation

Jan. 19, 3:47 p.m. — A resident of the 1600 block of Glenmont Road reported a that a TV and laptop were stolen. The resident said that their son and his two friends — one who lived next door — were at the home and the son and his friend went to the store, leaving his neighbor alone at the house. When the two came back, his neighbor was gone and so was a TV and a laptop. Officers’ search of the neighbor’s home yielded negative results.

Officer spots shoplifting scuffle

Jan. 21, 9:42 a.m. — A plainclothes officer was on duty at Home Depot and spotted a scuffle near the front entrance. He stepped in and found out that it was a security officer trying to stop a man he believed was shoplifting. Police arrested the man and charged him.

Woman robbed at her car

Jan. 21, 11:53 p.m. — A woman was getting out of her car on the 2700 block of Hampshire Road and reported that another woman approached her. The suspect was dressed in all black with a black hood on her face. She told the woman that she had a gun and to get back in the car. The first woman refused and punched the suspect in the face. The suspect demanded the woman’s wallet and she gave it to her, and then the suspect fled. The suspect got away with $200 cash and debit cards.
