Woman Tries Hiding Weed in Underwear: Best of the Blotter

Here are some of the weirdest police reports and incidents from departments across the region.

Here are this week's most bizarre police calls, reports and charges. All information was provided by police reports from departments in Patch communities. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Weed in underwear — A Kent woman learned on Oct. 11 that there simply is no good place for hiding drugs.

Twinsburg Police pulled over 23-year-old Angelina Vinciguerra on Interstate 480 for littering, but immediately smelled marijuana coming from the car. She denied having the drug despite police noticing her heavy breathing and purse clutching.

As police prepared to have a dog sniff for evidence, Vinciguerra was seen moving the marijuana from her purse to her underwear.

An officer asked her to remove it before placing her under arrest.

Argument at wing night — Cleveland Heights Police responded to a call on Oct. 9 about a dispute centered around the rules of Winking Lizard's popular wing night.

Patrons can get discounted chicken wings on Mondays and Tuesdays, but the restaurant's policy states that they must eat them at the Coventry restaurant. That rule didn't sit well with a 36-year-old Heights resident. An employee and customer both told him that he could not leave with his wings, valued at $2.50.

At that point, the man began arguing with other customers and yelling out expletives. Police later found him in his car with an open container. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, driving under suspension and an open container violation.

They're at it again — Residents of the 1200 block of Gaylan Drive in Cuyahoga Falls called police for the third time in the past month because of the peculiar behavior of a neighboring family.

A resident complained about screaming and slamming at 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 16. Police and paramedics arrived at the household to find shattered glass and blood splatter. Two men in the home said they had been play fighting before things got physical. A woman and baby were also present during the brawl. They left the home, but the men stayed.

Police came back to the house within minutes because the yelling picked back up. When an officer knocked, the men became quiet and did not answer the door.

In September, neighbors accused residents of this home of cutting a screen door, lighting firecrackers near a car and taping a pornographic picture to the back door of another home. Police are still investigating those incidents.

You better buy — A Strongsville woman sought police assistance on Oct 12. regarding a series of text messages she had been receiving from an unknown drug dealer.

She received a text that day asking if she wanted to purchase some bath salts. She responded that the individual had the wrong number, but the dealer insisted it was not law enforcement texting. Still, the woman was not interested and again told the dealer that he or she had the wrong number.

The texts have continued and taken a threatening tone, according to the woman. She told police they should be aware of the situation and that she would ignore any further messages.

Oh, good grief, woman. You need to lighten the hell up. People's stupidity deserves the special attention it gets with this feature in Patch. Unless there's a gun to your head, then you're not obligated to read this. And if you are, then perhaps you need the police.

I agree! It shouldn't be illegal if alcohol isn't. www.firebrandcentral.com
