Cleveland Heights City Councilwoman Bonnie Caplan announced June 3 that she will not run for election next year, The Sun News reports.
Caplan has served on council since 1993, the newspaper reports.
Caplan told the newspaper that, although she underwent surgery last year, her health was not a factor in her decision.
