Candidate Statement:  My wife Elizabeth and I have lived in this city for the past 15 years. I am running for City Council because I love this city, and I am familiar with the city’s enormous potential and its challenges.

Since 2006, I have been a member of CAC (Citizens Advisory Committee) and since that date, I have been the Vice Chair of the Finance Committee of the CAC. Currently, I am the secretary of the CAC.

Throughout all these years, I have worked with my colleagues on financial issues, economic growth, water and commercial and other business activities in the city. As a member of this advisory committee, I became familiar with the city’s urgent issues including foreclosures, crime, the economic downturn and diversity issues across the city.

If I am elected, I plan to work hard with my colleagues in the Council on issues of economic growth across all the city’s neighborhoods. I will also support strong public education across the district. The must pass to ensure the great work of our teachers. I will also work hard to ensure a good environment for all the people in the city. I will fight crime and focus on the creation of jobs for our citizens. With my skills in public administration and urban affairs, I will be in a unique position on the council to understand these urgent and important issues that face our city. Finally, I will encourage regional collaboration to alleviate some of our city burdens.
