City To Consider Community Development Block Grant Applications
A number of Cleveland Heights organizations are seeking Community Development Block Grant funding in 2014.
The Cleveland Heights Citizens Advisory Committee has scheduled two public hearings to consider applications from local groups seeking to obtain federal funding.
The first public hearing for Community Development Block Grants is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 13 and the second hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 20. Both meetings will be in the council chambers at City Hall.
The program provides federal funding for street and sewer maintenance, housing programs, economic development youth programs, food banks and senior programs, just to name a few. The city is considering applications for funding for 2014.

Cleveland Heights is considered an "entitlement" community and receives annual block grant funding. Over a three year period, at least 70 percent of the funding must be used for programs that help low- and moderate-income residents.
On Aug. 13, applications for these purposes and/or from these organizations will be considered:- Water Line Replacement
- Streets Improvement Program
- Office on Aging
- Heights Emergency Food Center
- Start Right Food Program
- Heights Youth Club
- Center for Families and Children
- Family Connections
- Cedar Taylor Development Association
