Cleveland Heights Looking For High School Students For Youth Advisory Commission

The Cleveland Heights City Council is now accepting applications from high school students for the Cleveland Heights Youth Advisory Commission.

The Cleveland Heights City Council is now accepting applications from high school students for the Cleveland Heights Youth Advisory Commission. 

The commission consists of 15 Cleveland Heights high school students, including ten from Heights High and five private or parochial school students or homeschoolers. The students should be in grades 9, 10 or 11.  Ninth graders in particular are encouraged to apply.

A Cleveland Heights police officer, a member of the City's Recreation Advisory Board and a Heights High teacher also sit on the board as non-voting members.

As part of the application, candidates are being asked to submit a 250-word essay telling Council why, as a young person, they would like to be involved as a member of the Cleveland Heights Youth Advisory Commission. 

The deadline to apply is Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 4:00 pm.  The application should be returned to:
