Cleveland Heights Moves to Secure Grants For Cedar Fairmount Improvements
City Council approves applications to help with matching funds required for $1.5 million federal grant
Cleveland Heights City Council is looking to make up $375,000 in required matching funds for a federal streetscape improvement grant through state and local grants.
Council approved two applications for grants to help fund the Cedar Fairmount Streetscape Improvement Project.
The project received a $1.5 million grant from the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency, but the city is required to match the grant with $375,000. City Councilman Dennis Wilcox said that the city is trying to secure as much of this as possible from other grants.

The city is applying for $10,000 from the Bikes Belong Coalition and for an undetermined amount of money from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to help with the planned Cedar Glen Multipurpose Trail portion of the project.
Wilcox said more grant applications are likely forthcoming.
