Cleveland Heights City Council members approved an ordinance at Monday night's regular meeting to purchase nine cars for the .
The Dodge Charger police cruisers from Greve Chrysler Jeep Dodge will cost no more than $225,000, according to council documents, and will be bought through the Department of Administrative Services Cooperative Purchasing Program
Here are more highlights from the meeting:
- Council members declared three homes to be nuisances, and will raze the properties at 3643 Grosvenor Road, 3527 Woodridge Road and 3421 Silsby Road. Each will cost $10,500 to demolish.
- Council declared April 8 to 14 National Community Development Week. Vice Mayor Dennis Wilcox said Cleveland Heights created this week to give thanks to the people who participate in the Community Development Block Grant program. It also makes a statement about "the importance of block grant funding in our city and the fact the funding is . It's an easy target ... but it is a great benefit to urban cities like Cleveland Heights." The city received $1.9 million in 2010, $1.6 million in 2011 and will receive about $1.45 million this year.
- Council declared April 8 to 14 National Library Week and encouraged residents to check out the resources available at the Cleveland Heights-University Heights .
