Council To Appoint Acting City Manager Tonight

The Cleveland Heights City Council meets tonight and will appoint Vice City Manager Susanna Niermann O'Neil as acting city manager. She will take over for Bob Downey, who resigned Friday.

The City of Cleveland Heights that City Manager Bob Downey had resigned after more than 30 years of service with the city.

City Council will appoint Vice City Manager and Community Services Director Susanna Niermann O'Neil as acting city manager at its regular meeting tonight. The city intends to conduct a national search for Downey's replacement.

Council will also discuss how to use and reallocate Community Development Block Grant money. And council members will consider an agreement with The Social Room (formerly called ) for use of a portion of public property at 2263 Lee Road for outdoor dining.
