Forum to Feature Cleveland Heights and University Heights Candidates

The local chapter of the League of Women Voters and FutureHeights are co-hosting the two-hour event featuring Cleveland Heights and University Heights City Council and School Board candidates

The will feature candidates running for city council and school board seats in Cleveland Heights and University Heights, and is presented by the League of Women Voters Cuyahoga Area, Cleveland Heights-University Heights Chapter and FutureHeights.

Deanna Bremer Fisher, executive director of , will moderate the event.

“Candidates will have an opportunity to make a statement, and the audience will be able to ask questions. We will follow the format that the League has used for many years, which asks audience members to write down their questions,” Fisher said by email. “A group of volunteers then sorts them, and I read them to the candidates.”

All candidates running for Cleveland Heights City Council and the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School Board are expected to attend, said Fern Jennings, chairperson for the forum, by email. Cleveland Heights Judge A. Deane Buchanan, who is running unopposed, and University Heights City Council candidate Steven Bennett cannot be there. University Heights City Councilman Kevin Patrick Murphy has not confirmed if he can make it, she said.
