Melissa Yasinow Is Running For Cleveland Heights City Council

Melissa Yasinow said she is running for Cleveland Heights City Council.

Attorney Melissa Yasinow announced her candidacy for Cleveland Heights City Council tonight, July 15.

Melissa Yasinow, 28, said she has been a resident of Cleveland Heights for five years and is a graduate of the Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

She is an attorney with Cleveland law firm Kohrman Jackson & Krantz.

"I care about Cleveland Heights," Yasinow told Patch. "I think its a phenomenal community that has a lot to offer to young professionals, and I want to bring that voice to city council."

The field of at-large candidates in November's city council election now include Yasinow and incumbents Mayor Ed Kelley and council members Cheryl Stephens and Jason Stein.

Long-time Councilwoman Bonnie Caplan is not running for re-election.

Janine Boyd, who was appointed into her seat, must run this November in a separate election to continue as a council woman for the next two years.
