Patch and Nighttown Team Up Again, Will Host Another Presidential Debate Watch Party

Join us at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at Nighttown for the final presidential debate.

The first Patch and Nighttown Presidential Debate Watch Party was a success — more than 250 people, including local candidates, council and school board members, came to the Cedar Fairmount jazz club and restaurant. The event raised more than $1,000 for the Friends of the Heights Libraries.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to watch the presidential candidates square off and play some fun — and challenging — election trivia. Attendees helped raise money for a good cause and enjoyed company and conversation with fellow debate watchers.

The event went so well that Patch and Nighttown have decided to team up again and host another watch party Oct. 22, the night of the final presidential debate.

Just like last time, we’re bringing in eight big-screen TVs. And there may be a big giveaway — stay tuned for more details.

Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. The debate gets under way at 9 p.m.

Cover charge is a $5 donation to the Friends of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library. Reservations are required.

To make a reservation, call Nighttown at 216-795-0550.

Republican Leaders Agree that Mitt Romney Cannot Be Trusted
“If Governor Romney would like to give back all the money that he has earned from bankrupting companies and laying off employees, over his years at BAIN, then I would be glad to then listen to him. “ -Newt Gingrich, Republican leader and former Speaker of the US House of Rep. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoWkmYrp818 “I have never seen a guy (Romney), and I have run a lot of elections supported a lot of people for political office. I have never seen a guy change his positions on so many things so fast, on a dime.” - Rudy Giuliani, Republican leader http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av3q7-a-ayc&feature=player_embedded#! “This is someone (Romney) who doesn’t have a core. He has been on both sides of almost every single issue... “ –Rick Santorum, Republican leader and former Republican Senator http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av3q7-a-ayc&feature=player_embedded#! “He’s (Romney) certainly being dishonest about his own record! When he says that he had the endorsement of the NRA, he did not. When he says he didn’t raise taxes, and in fact, there were $500 million in fees raised during this time. When he talks about my record or John McCain’s. He’s making up stuff, it’s just incredible. In Arkansas, we call it DISHONESTY.” - Mike Huckabee, Fox News commentator and former Governor of Arkansas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av3q7-a-ayc&feature=player_embedded#!

Joseph Robert,
How are things in Alemeda, California where you live? Not the same as here in NEO where we have a balenced budget and a government that doesn't control every facet of our being.

Joseph,
how much is your salary from the Obama Campaign? I bet you're one of the 1%.

Agreed. New site is much too busy and/or confusing. Old format was easy to navigate and followRead More certain stories , a very cumbersome ordeal now. Thumbs down on the change.

I agree. I had even been tempted to start a blog just before this new and "improved"Read More layout. No longer interested in doing that - can't find anything on this patch.

That's odd. I was at the previous meeting, my first - on Global Warming, paid dues for the firstRead More time ever, wrote down my e-mail more than once, and still had no idea there was a meeting was last night.

Diane, for what it's worth, I believe FutureHeights has announced their intention to have a meetingRead More where the community can discuss ideas for Severance.

Along those lines, Diane, I thought an indoor greenhouse would be a good idea. Classes on how toRead More create gardens, grow food, store and preserve food would be an asset to the City.

Diane H. Dreizen & bachtobroadway42 - what interesting ideas! I'd love to see the whole messRead More raised and the area turned into a public park/recreation area with walking trails, bicycle paths, community gardens, etc. It seems the wind turbines could be in a place like that too. That's my dream, but we'll probably get some hideous redundant commercial development instead.

Please join the conversation. The proposed school bond would be a timely starting point!
