Lawrence Swoope will leave after seven years with the school.

Lawrence Swoope will resign as principal of , effective July 1.

Swoope has been principal there since August 2005. He accepted a job as principal of a private school at his church, where his wife is senior pastor.

"From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for the opportunity serve your child. You have helped me personally and professionally more than you will ever know," Swoope wrote in a letter to parents about his resignation. "I will carry so many memories in my heart. My greatest prayer is that I have added value during my seven years with you individually and collectively."

Dr. Nylajean McDaniel, director of human resources for Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools, said the district would like to hire someone before the end of the 2011-2012 school year.

“The principal position has been posted. We would like to have someone in place before the end of the year so Mr. Swoope can help the new principal ease into the position and allow some time for this dynamic individual to become familiar with the Boulevard staff and families before and during the summer break,” she said by e-mail.

I believe ths site could best serve CH residents as a future wind farm (small scale of course). ItRead More sits high above the surrounding area; could accommodate possible 3 turbines; and provide electricity to the surrounding residents and businesses. Of course, the council would run it like they do the water/sewer, streets, forestry, lighting, "insert other here" departments, and it would just turn into a way to charge residents and continue to bleed them dry. But they would give tax abatements to whoever built the turbines or operated them.

Diane, for what it's worth, I believe FutureHeights has announced their intention to have a meetingRead More where the community can discuss ideas for Severance.

Along those lines, Diane, I thought an indoor greenhouse would be a good idea. Classes on how toRead More create gardens, grow food, store and preserve food would be an asset to the City.
