CH-UH District Open House for Preschool, Kindergarten Set for Nov. 1

Parents will have chance to pay visit to district's school system

Few choices in life are more important than picking the right school to begin a child’s education.

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights City Schools is holding an open house for its kindergarten and preschools on Nov. 1 from 6:30-8 p.m. to let the community gain greater familiarity with what the district has to offer prospective students.

All seven of the district’s elementary buildings and the Gearity and Noble preschool programs will take part in the event.

Making the transition from the home to a daily schedule of schooling can be quite a change for a child, but Beverly Metzger, the program specialist for the Early Childhood Education, believes CH-UH Schools are one of the best places in the Greater Cleveland area to meet the challenge.

“This is a night for us to showcase what we have to offer families to support their child’s transition into the beginning of their school career. We want them to stay. So we will share materials that will showcase our program and services,” Metzger said.

Families will have a chance to take tours of the facilities and learn more about the schools’ curriculum and programs. Parents will have a chance to meet principals, teachers and other district representatives to ask questions about the district.
