CH-UH Hires New Boulevard Principal

Katrinka Dean will replace former Boulevard Elementary School Principal Lawrence Swoope

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District has hired a new principal to lead .

The CH-UH approved Katrinka Dean's hire at Tuesday's , and she starts Aug. 6.

Dean replaces Lawrence Swoope, who will resign July 1 to take a , where his wife is senior pastor.

“We are very excited to have Ms. Dean lead our Boulevard team,” Superintendent Doug Heuer said in a press release. “Her wealth of experience in STEM education and project-based learning, her willingness to collaborate with staff and parents, and her steadfast commitment to preparing all students to achieve in a global economy will prove very valuable for the Boulevard community.”

Dean will earn $104,712 annually in her new role.

Dean has served as principal of Randallwood Elementary School in Warrensville Heights and the John W. Raper Elementary School in Cleveland, according to the press release. She also was the assistant principal of Moreland Hills Elementary School in Moreland, Ohio.
