CH-UH Hosts Facilities Master Plan Forum Tonight

Parents and residents can share their thoughts on the facilities master plan before the school board makes its final decision on a bond issue Tuesday, July 17.

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District is hosting a from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. today, Monday, July 16 so that parents and residents can comment on the before the school board makes its final decision on a bond issue Tuesday.

The forum will be in the social room of .

"Tuesday’s board meeting will include the final reading of the resolution to place a bond issue on the ballot. It is not final until then. Before that happens, the board wanted to give community members one more opportunity to have their opinions heard," said Angee Shaker, communications director for the district, in an email.

Four of five board members are expected to attend the meeting tonight, she said. The fifth member had a previously scheduled commitment but will attend if possible.

The CH-UH School Board voted 3-2 to approve the facilities master plan at its regular meeting July 3, with .

The board also voted 3-2 on first reading to put a , which would be an estimated 5.9 mills and pay for about two-thirds of the plan. The board must vote and approve the bond issue again at its special meeting Tuesday, July 17 for it to be approved. Zucker and Register voted no on the bond issue at the July 3 meeting.
