CH-UH School Board To Examine Facilities Plan

The school board will meet tonight and discuss financing and other details of the proposed facilities master plan.

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights will meet at 7:30 tonight at the cafeteria to discuss details of the and how to finance it.

The work session will cover much of what was presented at a community meeting Wednesday and how to pay for the estimated $189 million it will take to renovate and rebuild some of the district's schools.

Steve Shergalis, director of business services for the district, indicated they would discuss bond issues, among other funding options.

Hopefully they will publicize asap the calendar of school transitions that debuted at the Plan C meeting that shows changes as soon as Summer 2013.

I agree. I know there are many questions regarding the Phasing plan among parents and families from Gearity. Especially the part that specifies that Gearity students (cleveland heights and university heights students) will be moved to trailers in the field while the Rox kids move into Gearity while their school is renovated. There hasn't been any mention of what will happen to all the special needs students that go to Gearity, especially during this transition. Stability is important to all student, but especially those with special needs. A detailed explanation of the plan presented last Wednesday would be helpful.
