CH-UH Schools Names New Co-Coordinator of Educational Services Department

The Cleveland Heights–University Heights School District has named longtime District employee Bob Swaggard as the co-leader of the Educational Services Department.

The Cleveland Heights–University Heights School District has named longtime District employee Bob Swaggard as the co-leader of the Educational Services Department.

Mr. Swaggard will focus on developing and implementing curriculum in the District’s secondary schools. Dr. Octavia Reid, former Principal of Wiley Middle School, will serve with Mr. Swaggard as the co-coordinator of educational services focusing on elementary curriculum.

“Mr. Swaggard is already a proven leader and relationship builder in our District,” said Superintendent McDaniel. “I am confident that he will be an exceptional leader and will, with Dr. Reid, continue the high standards the Educational Services department has set.”

Bob Swaggard has been with the District since 2000, and will be stepping into the co-coordinator of educational services role. He served as a social studies teacher at Roxboro Middle from 2000-2004 and at Cleveland Heights High from 2004-2010. In 2010, Swaggard accepted the position of program specialist, social studies.

Mr. Swaggard was named to this position after Kelly Stukus recently resigned. Ms. Stukus, a longtime District leader who most previously served part-time as the Title I / K-5 Literacy coordinator, was recently named as the co-coordinator of Educational Services for elementary curriculum.  However, Ms. Stukus determined that a full-time position was incompatible with her family’s needs.

“After 18 years in the CH-UH City School District, the decision to leave was really hard,” said Ms. Stukus.  “Leaving this District breaks my heart, but it’s become clear to me that doing this job well simply demands more time.”

“Kelly Stukus is an exceptional leader who always strives for excellence, and we will all be very sorry to see her go,” said CH-UH Superintendent Dr. Nylajean R. McDaniel.  “I want to thank Kelly for all of her hard work and her dedication to all of the students in the CH-UH City School District. Our students will benefit from her efforts for many years to come.”
