Cleveland Heights High Celebrates Homecoming With Parade, Game Friday

The school will celebrate with a parade, Family Fun Fest and of course, the football game.

Get out your black and gold gear — Cleveland Heights High School has several events planned for its homecoming this Friday, Oct. 19.

The celebration kicks off with a parade at 5:30 p.m. down Washington Street. Students and other participants will meet at the high school at 5 p.m.

After the parade, families can gather outside of the gates of Crawford Field for the school's Family Fun Fest, which will include bounce houses, face painting and fake tattoo stations. And this year's homecoming theme is "Glow in the Dark," so children will also receive free glow sticks until the school runs out.

The sign language department will also host a Chili Cook-off Challenge at 6 p.m. at the concession stand closest to the entrance of the football field. Proceeds benefit the department's trip to Africa this school year.

The Heights High Tigers (5-3, 3-2) will take on the Lorain Titans at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for students.

“Homecoming weekend is a special time for our students and our community,” said Superintendent Doug Heuer. “It brings us together and gives us another reason to celebrate our Tiger Pride. We’re all looking forward to it.”

Those who wish to join the fun and march in the parade should contact athletic director Kristin Hughes at k_hughes@chuh.org or 216-320-3015.
