Go Public! Kicks Off Toy And Learning Material Drive Today

The group that supports Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Schools will collect items through Dec. 15

will collect toy and learning material today through Dec. 15 for children ages 3 to 12 in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District.

The group, which describes itself as a grassroots movement to connect the Cleveland Heights-University Heights community with its public schools, has recommended a list of toys that incorporate play, a crucial aspect to learning for youngsters. The list and more can be found on its website, www.gopublicchuh.org.

“Kids can’t learn if they don’t know how to play, and they can’t thrive without the right toys,” said Go Public! founder and early childhood educator, Joan Spoerl, in a press release. "The right type of play helps children think, create and solve problems. We want this drive to help put the right sorts of toys and learning materials in children's homes to support learning."
