Learn About the New Lemon Grove Academy for the Sciences and Humanities

District officials say the revitalized campus will offer innovative courses designed to prepare students for 21st century careers.

A series of public forums will be held to introduce the community to the Lemon Grove School District's new STEM school.

Slated to open this fall, the Lemon Grove Academy of Sciences and Humanities—formerly Lemon Grove Middle School—is undergoing modernization that will give the campus new science labs and locker rooms, revitalize the lunch court, and provide other upgrades. The school's STEM program will emphasize learning in science, technology, engineering and math.

The transformation is that will also build a new 14,000-square-foot county library for the community. The campus is connected to the city's Recreation Center, which will be used by students for physical education; and Golden Avenue Elementary School, which features medical and oral health clinics run by the University of California, San Diego.

Five presentations will be held over the next couple of weeks, designed to inform parents and the community about the school's mission and vision to prepare students for 21st century careers.

District officials say the curriculum will include an arts program, before- and after-school activities, and leadership training that will teach youngsters to set goals and develop a desire to excel.

Forum dates and locations are:

April 18—

April 19—

April 23—

May 1—

May 3—

All presentations will be held in the school's auditorium starting at 6 p.m.

As a single father of four kids the two youngest which are my daughter's have been attending Lemon Grove School's for the past five year's. They are now in the 5th and 8th grades. I am happy and exited to say they have been very eager to be sharing campuses. I believe Mr.Rick Oser and his active staff, as well as those outside the buisness part. I am happy to know in my heart my girls will become very important people along with there peers. Hive five Mr. OSER. You have been very beneficial to my whole family.
