Roxboro Student Honored For Winning Essay

Soli Collins was honored by the Cleveland Heights - University Heights School Board for speaking out against bullying and discrimination.

Collins was an Eighth grader at Roxboro Middle School in the spring when she won first place in the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage's Stop The Hate Essay Contest.

Her essay about dealing with bullying and harassment was personal and also dealt with issues about how social media can make bullying much worse for the bullied.

She received a plaque for her accomplishment and read the essay for the school board and the audience.

Collins won a $300 prize after her essay was picked as the winner in the eighth grade category.

She will attend Cleveland Heights High School as a ninth grader in the fall.
