Cleveland Heights Player Injured in Playoff Game Back in School

Anthony Simmons was on the ground for 25 minutes and carried off the field after suffering a mild concussion during the game

Cleveland Heights football player Anthony Simmons gave the crowd at the quite a scare Saturday night.

Simmons was on the ground for 25 minutes and carried off Crawford Field.

He suffered a mild concussion, but is now doing fine and back in school, said Angee Shaker, communications director for the .

"Anthony was back in school on Monday. Our athletic director Kristin Hughes said he had a mild concussion. Part of the delay with the medics was because Anthony did not want to leave the team . We had three doctors on the field ... all from University Hospitals, who said he was OK but wanted to be extra cautious, so they recommended that he go to the hospital. He was released that night," she said.
