Trillion To One: Cleveland Heights Man Catches Four Foul Balls At Cleveland Indians Game

Cleveland Heights Resident and Cleveland Indians fan Greg Van Niel has amazed the sports world by catching four foul balls at Sunday's game.

Greg Van Niel, a Cleveland Heights man, caught four foul balls at a Cleveland Indians game Sunday at Progressive Field.

Four balls in one game. Most fans never sniff a foul ball. The odds of catching four is basically a trillion to one, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

Van Niel luckily brought his glove to Progressive Field to watch the Tribe take on the Kansas City Royals, kept three of the balls, says Patch News Partner WEWS News Channel 5. When he caught the fourth he flipped it into the stands to give other fans a chance.

“I figured I’d have fun with the fourth one and flipped it up into the stands as if to say I don’t need any more baseballs,” Van Niel told Fox 8.

Van Niel's luck extends even beyond all that. He is a season ticket holder and he wasn't even sitting in his normal seat.

Van Niel's feat has been all over the national news, from ESPN to The TODAY Show to Deadspin

Still, Van Niel told the media his catching spree was "not significant."

"I didn’t have to move a lot; I just had to be there and pay attention,” he told FOX 8.
