A new soccer field will replace grass with artificial turf
Soccer and shovels were the theme at Saturday. Cleveland Heights' soccer teams play on the grass field at the park regularly, and soon, they will be playing on artificial turf .
City officials, soccer players, coaches, parents and fans came out to pick up shovels and pitch dirt at a groundbreaking ceremony Saturday. They also had an opportunity to play on the old field and kick a few balls in the goal. The change is part of a makeover that also includes removing the old swimming pool, adding shelters and picnic tables and updating the landscaping.
