Heights Bicycle Coalition Continues Group Rides

FreeWheelin' Wednesdays continues through September, and tonight's ride will highlight a source of pride for Heights residents — the trees.

Cleveland Heights is known for having beautiful trees. The Heights Bicycle Coalition wants to highlight that asset tonight during its weekly group bike ride.

The Heights Bicycle Coalition started offering Wednesday rides Aug. 1 and will continue to host its FreeWheelin' Wednesdays throughout September.

The rides have included seven to 22 cyclists, according to the coalition's website, and riders traveled five to 10 miles.

Sue Wolpert will lead the Sept. 5 ride, and she will take cyclists past a variety of trees, both young and old, and point out where community planting efforts took place.

The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Park, as they do each Wednesday, and helmets are required. The park is located near the former Coventry School at the intersection of Euclid Heights, Washington and Coventry.
