The Cleveland Heights Police Department, headquartered in the City Hall building on Severance Circle, has 109 officers. The department has a training academy on Noble Road, and another station on Superior Road. The academy trains officers in Cleveland Heights, South Euclid, Lyndhurst, and other communities in the Cleveland. Martin Lentz served as police chief for more than 30 years and retired in 2010. Former Police Captain Jeff Robertson, who's in his 30th year with the department, took over in December 2010.
