Two men driving near Sprangler and Greyton roads in Cleveland Heights on May 19 were ordered at gunpoint to remove their shorts and hand them over, according to the Cleveland Heights Police. Four people, including three 18-year-olds and a juvenile, were later arrested and charged with felony aggravated robbery, according to a police report. Adults charged were: Devon Jones, 18, Sade Hill, 18, and Shanena Stevens, 18, the report reads. The victims said a car pulled up next to them at about 11 p.m. on May 19 while they were driving and asked them for some "loud," a slang term for marijuana, reads the report. 24-year-old Cleveland man accused of stabbing 64-year-old Cleveland Heights man to death in 2009
The trial of a Cleveland man accused of stabbing 64-year-old David Oliver to death in 2009 was set to begin Monday. According to prosecutors, Brandon Caesar went to the home of the mother of his child on July 21, 2009 and attacked her with a knife. When the woman's grandfather stepped in to help her, Caesar stabbed him, killing him, prosecutors say. Police said they found him in the home when they arrived, trying to climb out of a bedroom window. According to The Plain Dealer's article, the victim, Lamborgini Thompson, was 20 at the time of the attack and was living with Oliver at Monticello and S. Belvoir Boulevards. Caesar has been in Cuyahoga County Jail since his arrest that night on a $1 million bond.
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Demetrice Cannon.
Demetrice Cannon, 28, is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Cleveland Police for aggravated murder. It is alleged that Cannon shot and killed a man after an argument during a dice game, according to a press release. The incident took place earlier this month on May 2. Cannon is a black male standing approximately 5’05” and weighing 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Cannon is suspected to be hiding out somewhere in the Cleveland area. He also had a previous address near the 1200 block of E. 80th St. in Cleveland. Cleveland Heights Fire Department was honored with the Excellence in Professional Standards Award by Cleveland Clinic at the 2013 EMS Awards for life saving measures performed on a 3-month old infant in cardiac arrest. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the checkpoint it announced earlier this week was will be in Portage County Saturday evening. The exact location of the drunken driving checkpoint will be known Saturday morning. The checkpoint is funded by federal grant funds and is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers, according to a press release from the Ravenna post. "Based on provisional data, there were 452 OVI-related fatal crashes in which 494 people were killed last year in Ohio," Lt. Fire department takes time this week to use the Ohio Fire Academy's mobile search and rescue trailer
Over 100 firefighters from Shaker Heights, Cleveland Heights and University Heights took time this week to stop, drop and roll in Ohio Fire Academy's mobile search and rescue training lab. The trailer, which was delivered on a semi earlier this week, has two levels inside: the bottom designed to look like an apartment, and the top consisting of a low-ceilinged maze with several obstacles that could be seen in a real fire. You can't make this stuff up. Wow, stealing shorts, really? I understand most people keep their valuables in their pants, but to request them at gun point that's an all time low.
